Know your body (:
Topic: structures and functions of human male and female reproductive system.

-Structures and Functions of human male reproductive organs/parts:
- Produce fluids in which the sperms ‘swims’. The mixture of sperms and fluid
in called semen.
-made up of tubules*
-tubules joined to form larger collecting tubules leading to epididymis**.
-Produces sperms and male sex hormones after puberty.
system, that lies on the posterior aspect of each testicle,
connecting it to the vas deferens(sperm duct).
-single tubule lying just outside testis.
-stores sperm temporary.
-uncoiled tube leading from epididymis
-leads sperms to urethra.
-carries sperms to the penis.
-muscular erectile* organ.
-contains erectile tissues with numerous blood spaces, which when filled makes
penis stiff and erect.
-serves to introduce semen** into vagina.
-the release of semen is known as ejaculation.
-The organ from which semen leaves the body and is deposited in the vagina of
the female.
**semenàmixture of sperms and fluids.
-outside body cavity.
-a testis lies in each sac.
-temperature of testes kept slightly below body temperature (37 degree Celsius)
-A bag of skin which holds the testes outside the body.
-single muscular tube leading from bladder.
-passes through penis
-sperm duct opens into it just after it leaves the bladder
-leads sperms to the outside through the penis.
-also a passage for urine.
-A tube which carries sperms and urine at different times.

-The testes are outside the body where the temperature is lower than inside the body as lower temperature (human body temperature= 37 degree Celsius.) is the most suitable for the production and storage of sperms. Therefore, the testes are “hang” outside the body in scrotum! -The testes in a man produce about 2 billion sperms a day!

-Structures and Functions of human female reproductive organs/parts:
-Thick muscular wall
-Wall can stretch many times its size.
-embryo attaches itself to the uterus wall, grows and develop into a fetus in the
uterus..
-Where baby grows during pregnancy.
-Muscular tube leading to uterus at one end.
-Lined with cilia* and mucus-secreting cells.
-Beating of cilia directs ovum into fallopian tube, contraction of walls
moves ovum towards uterus.
-Fertilization of ovum occurs in the fallopian tubes.
-Connects the ovary to the uterus; collects eggs released from an ovary and
carries them to the uterus.
-Ring of muscles at lower end of uterus.
-connects uterus to vagina.
-The narrow opening if the uterus. It becomes wider during the birth of the
baby.
-1 pair
-Produces eggs and female sex hormones.
-site where sperm are deposited.
-as birth canal for baby.
-A muscular tube where sperms from the penis are deposited. It also
becomes wider during the birth of a baby.
The OMG! Corner(:
-The human egg is larger than the sperm as it has a lot more cytoplasm. -The cytoplasm contains food for the fertilized egg as it grows and develops in the first few days following fertilization.
